Color Tips for your project:

Studies have shown that red can quicken the pulse and breathing rate, as well as increase your appetite. Yellow, can make people feel happier. When used as a accent bright yellow can attract attention and brighten up a bathroom. As with kitchens you can also use color to influence how large or small a bathroom can feel. Bathroom tile ideas and tile color are important since color can greatly affect your mood making you feel calm or energizing you. Warm colors like peach and yellow are fun, they make the bathroom feel cozier and they go well with a more country looking bathroom decor. If you use neutral colors like beige or white, they will make the room look larger, they will reflect light and they are always in style. Colors like blue, green and violet are viewed as serene or cool colors. Brighter colors like black or red add drama to the decor, absorb light and will make the room appear smaller. In rooms with plenty of windows and natural lighting, consider using darker tiles to offset the ambient lighting. You can also work in colors you want through the use of accent tiles and accessories.

Before starting your bathroom remodeling, it is important to remember that bathrooms require a highly washable and durable paint to withstand the wear and tear of steamy showers and other naturally humid conditions. A semi-gloss paint possesses a high-sheen that is easy to wash and perfect for combating threats of dirt, mold, and moisture.

Enhancing Your Home Bathroom Design

Posted in Home Design on 27th April 2011

If you are looking to improve your existing bathroom, planning the addition of a new one, or are designing the layout of a bathroom in the brand new home that you are building, the designs themselves can range from practical to luxurious. Contractors, architects, and interior designers will generally follow standard requirements when they sketch their plans, whatever your preference in bathroom design, so it is always a good idea to know what they are and how they can affect the layout of your entire home. As people grow older, more consideration may be put into adding special features that will make it easier as they go into their twilight years. There are a number of great sources when it comes to getting ideas for your bathroom, and while they can be tricky to modify or construct, there are always a few tips for getting the design that is just right for you.

Think of a general theme and stick to it to narrow your choices. If you are looking for a country-themed bathroom design in a country-style home that really wouldn’t be a bad idea, although keeping the overall theme of your home isn’t entirely necessary. Still, it would be better in certain situations to design the room separately and still keep the layout and design requirements in mind. For great places to get inspiration for your design, try visiting bathroom showrooms. It doesn’t hurt to make sure that the design of your bathroom is at least slightly pleasing to the eye, and although they may feature the latest trends and fashions, there is no need to incorporate as much as possible. You may find ideas in home design and remodeling magazines as you start making your purchases for the bathroom project, so if you find any you can clip them out and keep them in a scrapbook for reference.

There will be certain specifications that they will be inclined to follow when hiring a contractor or interior designer to design and build your bathroom. Most individuals for example, would need a toilet seat that is at least 32 to 43 inches high to be properly accommodated. If an individual is to be able to shower properly inside an interior shower room, it should measure at least 36 by 36 inches. Consulting an interior designer or a contractor will make the job easier as they can identify the spatial requirements if a new bathroom should be installed, as well as design a layout for your bathroom that would properly follow any guidelines. To keep your dream bathroom from becoming a health hazard, be sure that your design follows the strict building codes. Builders and re-modelers generally meet with city authorities before they tackle any bathroom remodeling project.

Home Design – Bathroom Remodeling

Posted in Home Design on 13th March 2011

Bathroom remodeling involves several processes including: design, plumbing, tile work, drywall work, electrical work, roofing, permits, inspections, flooring, wallpaper, and painting. Statistics show that renovating a bathroom adds more value to your home than the cost of performing the renovation.

Bathroom remodeling ideas for an average sized bathroom include such things as putting in new fixtures for your lighting, sink, or bathtub. Sometimes those small changes can make a huge difference in the look and feel of your bathroom. Remodeling ideas can be used to transform the room into a comfortable, attractive, spa-like and functional space. Remodeling a bathroom can help create a space for grooming and even for relaxing and indulging in after a long and tiring day.

Shower doors need not always swing but many can be fitted with a slider and thus conserve space. To keep the shower door glass clean you may want to install a shower curtain and rod. The curtain will keep the glass clean and it will be visible from outside the shower. So; be sure to use a curtain that looks nice and fits your décor. If space allows, consider adding a separate shower to your bath area. Keep the tub for a spa-like retreat, but install a shower, too, with body sprays.

Replacing a tub or shower usually means tearing out any existing tile-work or other wall coverings in order to remove the tub. You can easily get into the thousands of dollars; so be sure to set aside a budget for doing the work. And figure you may need a little more…just in case. Replacing a toilet can be a simple thing if you avoid the most common mistakes made by many homeowners.

Remodeling comes with the unexpected, and with that comes unexpected costs and delays. To avoid unnecessary delays you should stay in constant touch with the contractor and be sure everything is in writing before starting the project. Remodeling remains one of the best ways to set your home ahead of the competition. Upgrades to outdoor areas that expand the living space and add curb appeal can help sell your home faster and for a better price.

Floor tiles look great and provide a hardwearing, waterproof surface for your bathroom. Tiling a bathroom floor is the most hygienic thing you can do. Flooring, lighting, cabinets, and much more must be decided in order to prepare an accurate budget.

Flooring tiles are available in many shapes, as well as sizes. Sizes can range from 1 inch to 24 inches, and are available in octagons, hexagons, rectangles, and diamonds. The size of the tiles is an important consideration. Of course; there are many colors and types of tiles (stone, porcelain, etc)so be sure to have a color scheme and idea of what you are looking for before going to the stores.

And keep that budget in mind when shopping. The easiest thing to do when remodeling is to go spend over budget and that is when you get into trouble. So; you will want to set a budget and keep close watch when spending.

Simple Cleaning Tips For Your Bathroom

Posted in Tips & trick on 16th June 2010

The bathroom is a place of privacy, relaxation and enjoyment. If you really think about it, we use the bathroom every single day for many things, such as dressing, putting on making up, shaving, and some people spend a considerable amount of time using the bathtub. Thus, it’s nice to have a shiny clean bathroom to use everyday. Read on to learn some spring cleaning tips for your bathroom.

The very first thing you should do is to get organized and have a cleaning plan. Set aside a day for the job. Then make a list of all of the things you want to accomplish during the cleaning. It’s important to be specific and detailed when making your task sheet. Once you’ve established and are familiar with the tasks involved, you’ll now have to consider what tools and cleaners will assist you in getting all your tasks accomplished.

You’ll need a bucket and mop or brush to work on the flooring. Other things you’ll need are an old toothbrush, towels or dust rags, sponges and bathroom and glass cleaners. You might also need a chair or step stool for accessing high windows, ceilings, or light fixtures.

Before you start using the sponge, you need to simply eliminate all the old stuff lying around collecting dust. Throw away all those make up and skincare products that are expired and you know you’ll never use. Recycle all empty bottles. Once you have a clean slate and have reduced the clutter, you can then start working on your floors, walls, ceiling, bathroom vanity, and bathroom mirror.

Begin with the most difficult part: working on your sink, toilet, tub, and any tiled surfaces. Scrub with a sponge and good quality disinfecting cleanser. Method is a great brand of environmentally friendly cleansers to consider. For things like the mirror, you can use a mix of one part vinegar, two parts water in a spray bottle. Take out all items stored in your cabinets, shelves, etc. Wipe down cabinets, shelves and other storage systems in your bathroom with a disinfecting cleaner. Organize all items back into your storage compartments. Rinse the sink, toilet, and tube with cool water with the showerhead. Don’t forget to clean your wastebasket by wiping it down inside and out. You may also want to wipe down other items, such as decorative items to prevent dust from accumulating. Finally, clean floors with a mop.
